The surroundings of the "Falls of Acharn" are equally fascinating. The forest surrounding the waterfalls is characterized by lush vegetation that sets colorful accents throughout the year at different seasons. Short but steep climb. 15 min up. Wear suitable shoes as lots of loose rocks. Cave at top is cool but dark, handy to have a torch. Beautiful falls.

Bloody stunning and out of the way of the norm, wont ruin it but definitely need to park at the way point but then double back on the road, cross the wee bridge and take a direct right into the township, keep heading strait up with the stream to your right and youll find the path up, it seems the wrong way but its a much more beautiful entry and walk up and then when you reach the top of the falls cross the wooden bridge and go up to the farmers access road by following the foot path and take a right ( keeping the sound of the waterfall to your right) this leads to the shepards hut/cave (watch your head) go inside as it has a view point for the best photos and views of the falls, then just follow the access road down to your car, much better path. (And please be careful not to park blocking any of the local access i have been told they tow if you do but they were quite lovely people otherwise) there is also a kids playpark at the beginning of the trail

Unfortunately the falls where quiet due to lack of rainfall, but the walk through Hermits cave was brilliant, well worth the walk up the hill to see the falls as its still a beautiful site even if the waterfall is quiet.

It’s a beautiful place. The waterfalls are not so big but picturesque and I’d recommend seeing it if you are in the area. There are also a couple of good spots to eat at and a small Stonehenge nearby (google it, I guess). All and all, I love this area and been coming here for years! It’s a special atmosphere! You won’t be disappointed.

Lovely walk on well marked paths. Great view of the falls from the Hermits Cave. Not really suitable for push chairs or less able walkers. Parking is limited in both the village and at the start of the walk. Amazing views so worth the climb.

Mild Steep climbs into the falls and lovely circular walk around the gorge. Nice view on the lake and the mountains. Beautiful view from the wooden bridge crossing the gorge. Visited while was dry for a few days so not much of the water falling but would try to re visit in the Autumn to try much wetter days.

Lovely circular walk suitable for families with younger steady walkers (we did with our 3 year old) the Hermit cave, Falls and bridge across make it lots of fun. Not too long ~1.5k ish would highly recommend. Parking is limited~6 cars parking in the side. To start the walk you head up a stone path past the bakery on your left, farm on your right and keep heading up the path until the hermit cave & viewpoint. From there a little further takes you to the bridge crossing the falls and you can go down the other side. It's steep so something to bear in mind with young children. Great little park on the right at the bottom too.
